Remotely-operated labs (remote labs) offer an opportunity to experiment with real equipment from remote locations. Virtual labs simulate the scientific equipment. Play with one or two pendulums and discover how the period of a simple pendulum depends on the length of the string, the mass of the pendulum bob, the strength of gravity, and the amplitude of the swing. Observe the energy in the system in real-time, and vary the amount of friction.

Learning goals

Watch a string vibrate in slow motion. Wiggle the end of the string and make waves, or adjust the frequency and amplitude of an oscillator. Adjust the damping and tension. The end can be fixed, loose, or open.Primary aims of the lab:

This lab is designed to have students investigate the amount of energy lost by a ball when it bounces. Students will change the starting height of the ball and see how this affects the amount of energy lost and the percent of the original energy lost.

Kinetic Molecular Theory describes the behavior of tiny gas particles, which are too small to be seen even with the strongest microscope. Kinetic means "motion," so the theory is all about particles moving!

Phase Changes are changes of state, such as the change from liquid to gas, solid to liquid, or gas to liquid. When we heat particles, why are they able to change their state?

This lab allow the user to study how the eolic energy can be used in order to generate another type of enegry, in this case electrical energy which can then be used.
